Why I hate spoilers

Last night I accidentally read a rumour on the Web that reminded me just how much I hate spoilers. Knowing about the casting of Season 5 AtS 5, I found Spike's death in "Chosen" curiously flat. After all, he was coming back, wasn't he? But if this rumour is true then Spike really is dead, dead, dead. And it was only when I read this rumour that the emotional impact of "Chosen" finally hit me. Presumably, if I'd seen it unspoiled I would have bawled like a baby. Instead, I kept thinking, brought back by Wolfram and Hart, like Darla? Resurrected by Willow? Mysteriously returns for no good reason? What?

Also, I note that I have some Friends now. Thank you---you're all very kind. I'll try not to bore you too much.
