Have you seen him singing Mandy? That was the moment when I realised Angel had won himself a place in my heart forever, in spite of my earlier antipathy to him.
I've only really seen S5 and a few episodes of S4, so no, I've only read about the "Mandy" scene.
I think one of my major issues with Angel on BtVS is that he always seemed to take himself so seriously, which I found endlessly irritating. Seeing him in comedy vids puts him in rather a different light.
I can't afford any DVDs this week, but next week I'll go and pick some up. I may have been missing something after all.
I found all the vids you mentioned. "Sorry" and "Coin-Operated Boy" are highly amusing.
I haven't seen the episode with Mandy in it, but I downloaded just that segment and watched it repeatedly - Angel really got up my nose on Buffy, because, as you say, he took himself so seriously (it didn't help that DB's acting was pretty dreadful back then). It was a lovely surprise to find that he was allowed to make a fool of himself on AtS, not to mention that he's actually really good at comedy.
I love "Sorry". CoB is more of a one-off, but "Sorry" I rewatch every now and again.
Warning: Angel spends an awful lot of his time on ATS *still* taking himself too seriously. But the rest of the gang mocks him for it, so that's alright.
Well, technically, the Scourge of Europe? The Fanged Four. And, frankly, after seeing TGIQ? I think they were so deadly because 1/2 of those in fear died from laughing at them.
I mean - Darla - lusting after The Immortal, escaping Holst and leaving Angelus to his wits, Dru looking for guys who "taste like sunshine" and all her requisite madness, Spilliam working hard to compensate for NOT being "Daddy" and playing Angelus' sidekick, and Angelus - "Killing is an art "? Not when you're disrespected by The Immortal....
Sorry, but TGIQ? One of my favorite episodes. The Two Stooges meet Scam Artists On The Road to Roma. Hope and Crosby couldn't have done it better.
Only thing missing? Angel dancing in the disco. Really wanted to see THAT.
The Scourge were presumably an unholy terror in comparison with your average bunch of vamps, most of whom seem completely clueless. I'm sure they cut a swathe all right but they had their limitations. I still wouldn't want to meet any of them on a dark night.
TGIQ? One of my favorite episodes
Oh, absolutely. But then again, it was the comedy that drew me to BtVS in the first place and the lack of same that initially put me off AtS.
Comedy Fanged Four. The world needs more of it. I don't suppose you've any recs there?

Better. I like him much more when he has a sense of humour.
