fevered brain maunderings

So I have a raging head cold which means I'm only getting 5-15 minutes a stretch to read or type right now because after that my eyes start watering too damn hard. It's really frustrating because I feel fine from the neck down but my head feels puffy and glowing.
This week's episode was pretty good, although I'm going to need to rewatch it before I feel able to comment on it properly.
I haven't seen the promo for next week's, but I have seen the icons people have made from it already. Knowing nothing more than that, my poor fevered brain is in even more of a spin, trying to fill in the blanks in a series of increasingly maudlin scenarios.
Spike and Angel on a Vespa -- could they be in Rome? I try to avoid casting spoilers too, but I'm not unaware that SMG is unlikely to appear but that Michelle Trachtenburg was suggested at one point. And then there's Dru. So my brain goes:
Dru in LA, threatening Buffy and/or Dawn. Dru is completely not to be messed with. In terms of raw abilities, she's actually the strongest of the Fanged Four, it's just that she's not always able to hold her poor brain together.
Spike and Angel back in that damned plane. (Go on, Spike, confess you have so been in one before :P)
Spike and Angel in Rome, but Buffy's not there. Maybe she's even gone all extradimensional with Willow. Dawn's there though.
End result: dusting or other incapacitation of Dru (I'd love a story where they were able to help her though). Angel and Spike reach some sort of reconciliation about both Dru and Buffy. Spike and Dawn make up, very tentatively and sadly, but manage to resume some shadow of the friendship they once had. Spike admits to both Angel and Dawn, possibly separately, that he doesn't believe Buffy loves him and that "It just didn't work out." On the flight back, Spike sits in a different part of the plane, crying his eyes out and throwing small empty bottles of liquor about while Angel can't help but listen but is clearly looking the other way. The question of Angel's feelings regarding Buffy or Buffy's concerning Spike may or may not be resolved to anyone's satisfaction (assuming this is even possible).
There maybe a few more snippets about the other Scoobies and possibly Dana.
Gunn quits (unless it turn out that Angel has a reasonable-sounding plan). Lorne looks jittery and considers joining him. Harm is nonplussed and peeved at the Vamp Duo's rescue mission. Illyria is coming to terms with her new existence, probably badly, but she does at least have a crumbling ex-Watcher to help her. The apocalypse, Lindsey, Eve etc are put on hold yet another week. Marcus Hamilton turns up in another sharp suit to pass on a Plot Clue. Everyone wonders yet again why Firefly was cancelled when actors that good were on it -- oh wait that's what's happened to AtS too.
See? Now that I've told you all that I have no desire at all to actually write out the ep. Huzzah. Free my brain!
Time for dinner. One final question though -- should I give in to WIPS at last? I normally avoid them, but so much of the current fic action seems to be taking place there that I may start reading them anyway.

Date: 2004-05-01 03:47 am (UTC)re. WIPs. Most of the really good buffyverse fanfic are WIPs so unless you can go for long without a shot... I'm following a couple of WIPs because I'm weak that way. But I'm also waiting for two or three stories to finish before I dive in.

What I mean is, welcome back.
With the WIPs, hm, there's
(sorry for any typos, eyes still watering)

Date: 2004-05-01 09:01 am (UTC)As for next week's AtS, I am shamelessly spoiled for that. Three more episodes and it's really goodbye Spike, et al. I am just thankful that excellent fans/writers are still keeping the 'verse alive.

Date: 2004-05-01 06:53 pm (UTC)Don't tell me! Not that you would. You're a kind and thoughtful person.
Only three eps to go :(

Date: 2004-05-01 10:18 am (UTC)since i'm spoiled to the gills, i shall merely say that i'd like to hear what you think of your scenario after you see the ep.
Also? Spike throwing bottles like a petulant three year old? That should be filmed regardless of plotlines.

Date: 2004-05-01 06:59 pm (UTC)If my sketch above matches the ep in any way shape or form I shall be disappointed -- if the show were that predictable what would be the point in watching it?
Anyway, I though you'd given up on the Jossverse :)

Agreed :)
