It was interesting in the sense that I'd not seen this kind of seaweed before. It was a distnctive colour and texture (cream and magenta), quite different from the more common greeny-brown varieties of the Adelaide coastline. It forced me to realise that the beach where it occurred had a distinctive geomorphology and ecology.
