It's become clear to me that I need to start buying AtS on DVD. Sisabet's Closer, includes snippets from the elevator scene in "Epiphany" and it finally struck home that I'd only read the transcript and that viewing it would surely be a more complete experience.

Mainly though, I want the AtS DVDs to round out my understanding of the Fanged Four. I feel a need to get to know Darla.

A Buffy convention will be held in Adelaide in July. It's $320 which is more than my entire week on Kangaroo Island cost so I don't think I'll go. I'd like to meet other Buffy fans and attend the academic presentations that they mention but I'm not interested in the actors. In fact, I would prefer to never meet any of the actors ever. I'm not really sure as to why one would want to meet an actor, to be honest (a writer, yes).

I may know someone who might be on the academic stream (I'm a longtime friend of her son and used to tutor her daughter in maths). I should email her and see what she knows. I'd be quite happy to meet with any local and visiting Buffy-fen who might be here then. Would anyone on LJ be interested?

I like fannish conventions, the fan-run ones. I've been to more sf ones than I can easily count. Something like Writercon is extremely appealing, but this sort of $45-flog-a-photo-with-Fred has no appeal at all.
