Lunatic Moon-day
May. 3rd, 2004 02:12 pmI'm feeling markedly better but not quite well enough for work. I'll probably be back at it tomorrow though. But alas, brain fever seems to have struck our happy home:
Lunatic One: Housemate the Pianist has shut himself up in the music room with recordings of Wagner. This is for an upcoming gig, you understand, but still, how many Valkyries can one take? It's unhealthy and will lead to Wagner/Lovecraft crossovers.
Lunatic Two: I have just belatedly volunteered to have my writerly talents auctioned for Writercon. Not that I'll be going, but thought I should help out. As I've never, ever taken part in any kind of writing-on-demand like a ficathon or a challenge before, this is pretty scary. But as a one-off for a good cause, also exhilarating. I mean who knows what I might be asked to write...
Lunatic Three: The SO, observing that I'm quite into this fanfic thing, is trying to take an interest. He's asked if it might be reasonable for him to start reading this LJ, for instance. And he's become quite enamoured of his idea of a series of Clem Westerns, the Fistful of Kittens, For a Few Kittens More that I mentioned a while back. This morning he was reading out to me a plot outline of an Eastwood original, pointing which character would suit Clem and which would suit Spike. He downloaded little clips. So then I had to confess that I'd never watched a spaghetti western in my life. (I don't think Unforgiven counts.)
There may be some DVD re-education in the offing.
Lunatic Four: Housemate the Viola Player is no more or less lunatic than she normally is. She runs marathons you know :)
