Got some work done on "Descent" today which made me realise that it's completely the wrong title. I'll have to think about this, or put it to beta later on.
Has anyone tried to puzzle out where Spike was in Grave? I mean, I know it's probably Uganda because the shooting script specifies that the local language is Luganda (also, see Wisteria's "Ten Thousand"). But---he's clearly on a sandy plain next to a cave-mouth. Luganda's only spoken in the southern part of the country and, as far as I can tell with a web browser, the climate is very lush down there. Also, no caves. There are caves at Mount Elgon, but that's not a Luganda-speaking region. I mean, I could just make it up, but it's handy to have some reference photos and at least a vague idea of the landscape. Pah.
So now I'm all charged up to do writing but must prepare for the job interviews instead. Also, my chicken-farming friend rang up to tell me of a couple of other positions I could apply for.
Went to a Las Vegas theme party last night. As most of my clothes are out on the ocean somewhere, was scrabbling a bit for a costume. Opted for "gangster moll" in the end because had a suitable frock and a bubble gun. Other people dressed as the King of Hearts, pregnant Las Vegas bride and groom, or in sequins. No sign of Elvis.
